Godot Service Provider Policy
This document sets forth the Godot Service Provider Policy (the “Policy”).
Section 1. Purpose of the Policy
The purpose of the Policy is to set forth a transparent framework to allow approved service providers (each, a “Service Provider”) to appear on the Godot Service Provider List (defined below).
This Policy is to be read in conjunction with other policies approved by the Godot Foundation, including the Godot Privacy Policy, the Godot Ecosystem Vision Statement and such other policies as may be adopted or modified by the Godot Foundation or Godot from time to time.
Section 2. Administration of the Policy
The Policy and all decisions related to the Policy will be administered by the Godot Foundation. Any changes to the Policy must be approved by the Godot Foundation. If any changes are made to the Policy, they will be published on the Godot Foundation website.
Section 3. Definition of Service Provider
For the purposes of this Policy, a Service Provider is an individual or entity that offers a third party service involving or related to Godot or Godot technology.
Section 4. Service Provider List
To facilitate the provision of services and the creation of a transparent service provider framework, the Godot Foundation will create a service provider list (the “Service Provider List”) that will be located on the Godot Foundation website or the Godot website. The Service Provider List will contain:
- a list of names of Service Providers who have been approved to be included on the Service Provider List by the Godot Foundation pursuant to this Policy;
- a brief summary of the services of the approved Service Provider;
- the approved Service Provider’s website;
- the approved Service Provider’s contact information; and
- such other information that the Godot Foundation deems useful or necessary to include from time to time.
Section 5. Pre-Conditions for Inclusion on the Service Provider List
In order to be included on the Service Provider List, a Service Provider must:
- fill out the Service Provider List Application and submit it to the Godot Foundation for review;
- execute a copy of the Service Provider Certification and send the executed copy of the Service Provider Certification to the Godot Foundation; and
- answer such questions that the Godot Foundation may have regarding the Service Provider or the Service Provider’s services.
An application may be made via email to [email protected].
Section 6. Decision for Inclusion on the Service Provider List
Upon review of the application materials described in Section 5, the Godot Foundation may decide to approve a Service Provider at its discretion. The Godot Foundation will notify the Service Provider of its decision in writing.
Section 7. No Endorsement of Service Provider or Service Provider Services
Inclusion on the Service Provider List is only meant to create a transparent framework for the provision of services by approved Service Providers to the Godot community. It is not meant to serve as an endorsement of the Service Provider, the Service Provider’s services or the terms and conditions of those services.
The Service Provider List shall include a prominent statement that inclusion on the Service Provider List shall not constitute an endorsement of the Service Provider, the Service Provider’s services or the terms and conditions of those Services.
Section 8. Contractual Arrangements with Third Parties
All contracts and other agreements between a Service Provider and a third party will not be reviewed by or endorsed by the Godot Foundation or Godot Project leadership. Neither the Godot Foundation or Godot Project leadership will participate in any negotiations between approved Service Providers and third parties.
The Service Provider List shall include a prominent statement that neither the Godot Foundation or Godot Project leadership will have any responsibility for approved Service Provider’s contractual or other obligations.
If the Godot Foundation does provide services, it shall only be pursuant to an agreement that has been signed in writing by the Godot Foundation.
Section 9. Representations and Warranties
No contract offered or executed by an approved Service Provider should contain any representation regarding Godot that is inconsistent with the Godot Ecosystem Vision Statement, and such other policies that may be published by Godot or the Godot Foundation from time to time.
The Godot Foundation may request confirmation of this in writing at any time.
Section 10. Removal from Service Provider List
An approved Service Provider can be removed from the Service Provider List if the Service Provider:
- does not follow the conditions of the Service Provider Certification or breaches the terms of any policies published by the Godot Foundation or Godot;
- does not provide confirmation of compliance with Godot or Godot Foundation policies if requested by the Godot Foundation;
- commits any act or makes any statement that is judged in the sole discretion of the Godot Foundation to be inconsistent with Godot’s mission or open-source values or is in breach of the Godot Engine Code of Conduct which is available on the Godot website here: https://godotengine.org/code-of-conduct.
In the event of a removal from the Service Provider List, the Godot Foundation will advise the Service Provider in writing.
Section 11. Appeal of Service Provider Non-Inclusion/Removal Decisions
In the event that the Godot Foundation decides not to approve a Service Provider’s application for inclusion on the Service Provider List, it shall advise the Service Provider in writing. If the Service Provider wishes to appeal that decision, it may contact the Godot Foundation in writing and request a reconsideration of that decision.
If the Godot Foundation decides to remove an approved Service Provider from the Service Provider List, it shall contact the Service Provider and explain the reasons for the removal from the Service Provider List in writing. If the Service Provider wishes to appeal that decision, it can contact the Godot Foundation in writing and request a reconsideration of that decision.
The Godot Foundation shall have the final say regarding all decisions to include Service Providers in the Service Provider List or remove them from the Service Provider List.
